Our style

Our style of wedding photography is reportage, with a few portraits and group shots as requested (don’t worry, everyone needs a few!). We like to think of it as viewing your day through the eyes of a guest – recording the details big and small that you’ve worked so hard to create, capturing the atmosphere and all of the people you’ve chosen to share the happiest day of your life with, and all of the special moments from start to finish. We play with natural light as much as possible, and when the day is done, we edit in our signature style to bring your story back to life for you to enjoy again and again.

A little bit about us

We are Story + Colour, a husband and wife team, who love meeting people, love weddings and above all, love the love! We started Story + Colour not long after getting married ourselves in 2012, when the wedding high had worn off and we missed planning and creating for our own big day.
I got the photography bug during university shooting with black and white film. I would spend long nights in a makeshift dark room in the living room, developing my black and white films until the early hours of the morning. Photography for me has always been about capturing moments and telling a story, taking photos that create a narrative and evoke an emotion and I hope my relaxed, friendly nature comes through in my work. I am a graphic designer by day (and quite often by night) and help Dan run Story + Colour – it really is a business that comes from both our hearts. You might also find me out and about with my Lomography camera. I love designing for weddings, and mourned the absence of ours once it was over – dainty details and creative crafts float my boat!
